AbiWord - There was a version of the open source word processor for BeOS, too.
AbiWord is a free and open-source word processor. It is written in C++ and since version 3 it is based on GTK+ 3. The name "AbiWord" is derived from the root of the Spanish word "abierto", meaning "open". For further details, you might want to have a look at Wikipedia
I downloaded the software (version 1.0 for Intel CPU) from the BeBytes website. The download is a ZIP archive that I unpacked on my Windows 10 and, as I do not succeed to use a floppy drive with my BeOS VMware virtual machine, burned the extracted files onto CD (aka created an ISO). The content of the archive actually is a BeOS package. So, to install the application, just double-click the file AbiSuite.pkg.

The installation proceeds smoothly; just push the Continue button (to accept the defaults), when BeOS asks for some user input. After install, two new icons have been created in Applications. The first one, AbiSuite does not work, trying to launch the corresponding app results in the error message Missing library: libpng.so. The second shortcut, called AbiWord-1.0.1-Gluckalo starts the application.

The AbiWord user interface is similar to the one of other word processor applications. The screenshot shows AbiWord, with its install log file opened.
